Description
The Veteran’s General Medical Hospital, today known as the Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System, is located in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. The architectural firm of Mitchell and Richey, in association with other architects, was responsible for the planning, designing, and detailing of the building. The University Drive facility, originally built in the mid-1950s, is a 250-bed medical/surgical tertiary-care facility for United States military veterans. The facility is also associated with the University of Pittsburgh as a teaching hospital.
