History

The Furry and Price families were united in 1915 upon the marriage of Gertrude Furry and Benjamin Price. Gertrude and Benjamin had three children; two girls and a boy, Richard Price, born in 1932 and the youngest of the Price children. The family resided in Dormont, Pa., for nearly thirty years. The sisters of Gertrude Furry married into the Haberlen and Frye families.

Scope and Content Notes

The Furry-Price Family Papers and Photographs include over 100 images of members of the Furry and Price families, as well as images of relatives such as the Haberlen and Frye families. The papers and photographs contain materials from four dismantled scrapbooks; however the photographs and newspaper clippings remain in the original sheeting. The descriptions compiled by Richard Price included a history of the family beginning with his parent's immediate families. The papers contain materials from some relatives, including letters from Benjamin's brother, Dick Price, from his service in France during World War I. The papers contain Gertrude Furry's confirmation certificate from 1898, her teacher's certificate from the Pennsylvania State Sabbath School, and Benjamin Price and Gertrude Furry's marriage license from 1915.
