Description
Mary Helen Marks (center) served the Pennsylvania College for Women for over 30 years. After graduating from Smith College (Northampton, MA) in 1909, she began her career at PCW as the first field representative of the College in 1916. In 1920, she became the Registrar, and in 1922 she was promoted to Dean. She served as Dean until her retirement in 1952. She was also the Acting President for two years after the death of Cora Helen Coolidge in 1933. Here she is pictured with her mother and niece, who are both graduates of the Pennsylvania College for Women. She died in 1973 at the age of 87.
