Description
Taken from the “Bluff,” this photograph shows the beginning stages of demolition to make way for new buildings, which would become part of the complete redevelopment of Duquesne University. Rockwell Hall was erected on this site. Behind the demolition site, Forbes Avenue is visible leading into downtown Pittsburgh. To the left on Forbes Avenue is the City-County Building and to the right is the old Allegheny County Jail, which was converted for use as court offices.
