Description
Future site of the Bigelow Apartments at Bigelow Boulevard and Sixth Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. The Bigelow Apartments opened in February 1952 on the site of the 100-year old Saint Mary’s Convent. The apartments, which were for some time a prestige address in the city, were completed in 1959 by Nathaniel P. Kann. The building contained 418 units including efficiency, one and two bedroom apartments, and some commercial space. The structure is now known as the Ramada Plaza Suites & Conference Center.
