Description
Oakwood School, located on Oakwood Road, was a 4-room, 3-story structure built in 1909. Oakwood School took its name from its proximity to Oakwood Park. In the mid-1950s the school was a six grade elementary school with an approximate enrollment of 107 pupils. The highest enrollment at the school was 145 students in 1940-1941. Oakwood School closed in 1971 and was later sold to the City of Pittsburgh in 1973.
