Description
Contains a detailed review of the history, age, and ownership of 948-950 Beech Avenue, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The houses were designed and built by Edward M. Butz, an architect, between early 1880 and early 1881. It was owned by future United States Attorney General, Senator, and Secretary of State Philander C. Knox between 1885 and 1887. The buildings were converted into apartment buildings during the early twentieth century and remained so until purchased and restored in 1999.
