  • By the 1960s the Miracle Mile had become a regional shopping center with customers coming from all over the tri state area. The eastern extension of the Penn-Lincoln Parkway was completed to Monroeville in the Fall of 1962, giving customers still another limited access road to the east, and further enhancing Monroeville’s reputation as a shopping mecca.
