The papers include newspaper clippings, correspondence, and Drama Desk columns. The bulk of this collection is comprised of scrapbooks that relate to his early life, career and the Screen Directors' Guild Movie Crtitcs of the Year award., Cohen was a motion picture and drama critic for the Pittsburgh Post gazette from 1929 to 1969. He began as a movie critic with a column titled "Drama Desk". In 1943, he became the drama editor for the newspaper. He also wrote for other publications, including Variety and Stage.
