Abstract
The history of the Rauh family in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, began in 1870 when Solomon Rauh, a dry-goods merchant, moved to the city. Since that time, four generations of Rauhs have been involved in the Jewish community, in civic affairs, in music and theater arts, and in philanthropy. The collection includes periodicals containing articles about or by Bertha or Enoch Rauh, photocopies of articles pertaining the wedding of Bertha Floersheim and Enoch Rauh; articles about the history of Pittsburgh Jewry; and an obituary of Richard S. Rauh. Materials related to the Pittsburgh Association of Credit Men and to City Council elections are also included.
