The 7/11 Democratic Club is an independent Democratic club. It was first organized in 1968, and its membership was drawn principally from the 7th and 11th wards of the city of Pittsburgh, Pa. Since then, it has broadened to include members from the 8th, 10th, and 12th wards. Although the 7/11 DemocraticClub is an independent organization, it supports the principles of the Democratic party, with a liberal orientation. The 7/11 Club promotes candidates with strong clear programs, independent of special interests. In its reform activities, the 7/11 Club has sought to make the Democratic party more open and responsive to local voters. The 7/11 Club has also been very active in pursuing neighborhood reform and resolving community problems.
