Description
Miss Janet Lowry Brownlee was born in West Middletown, PA in 1857. She came to the Pennsylvania Female College in 1887 as the principal of Dilworth Hall, which housed the Preparatory School. When the Preparatory School was discontinued in 1916, Miss Brownlee became the Assistant to the Dean of the College- which was now called the Pennsylvania College for Women. She retired in 1931 after serving the College for over 40 years. She died at the age of 87.
