Description
Mary W. Brownson experienced the Pennsylvania College for Women as a student and teacher. In 1882, she began teaching Biblical Literature. In 1897, she shifted to teaching Modern History. She graduated with the class of 1904 and continued teaching History until 1920. She also earned a master's degree from Washington and Jefferson College, and in 1920, wrote with Vanda E. Kerst PCW's 50th anniversary pageant, "Victory through Conflict." After leaving PCW, Ms. Brownson lived in New York City and Philadelphia.
