Description
This photograph shows students eating in the new dining hall addition to Woodland Hall. In 1950, part of the hill behind Woodland Hall was removed to make room for the addition which would join the two wings of the building across the back. With this addition, the back of Woodland Hall faced the new center quadrangle of campus which was established by the building of Braun Falk and Coolidge Halls in 1953. The dining hall was part of a three-story addition in 1952 which also provided lodging for 130 students. When this dining hall was completed, it was large enough for the entire campus to use.
