Description
The Duquesne Way Ramp was part of a construction project to replace the Pennsylvania Railroad overpass on Fort Duquesne Boulevard in downtown Pittsburgh. Demolition work on the overpass began in October 1955 and was completed in 1956. 3,475 tons of metal removed from the railroad overpass was used as scrap by defense industries in the United States. The Gateway Center buildings, completed in 1952, are in the background.
