Description
A transfer table at a Baltimore & Ohio Railroad repair shop facility. This facility, built by Trimble Company of Pittsburgh, was used primarily by the Railroad to repair and maintain freight cars and locomotives. The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad operations in Pittsburgh were second only to the Pennsylvania Railroad. The Railroad operated a freight terminal between the Tenth Street Bridge and the Pennsylvania Panhandle Bridge, and a six-track freight station at First Avenue and Try Street in downtown Pittsburgh.
