Description
The Allegheny Commons East Apartments (pictured in the foreground under construction), designed by noted Pittsburgh architect Tasso Katselas in 1966, provided 136 rental units for low-income residents. The $2.6 million project housed efficiency to three-bedroom apartments, all uniquely designed. The apartment buildings, positioned in a snake-like spine configuration encompassing 3.1 acres, are located in Pittsburgh’s North Side neighborhood.
