Description
A view of a baseball game in progress at Exposition Park in Allegheny City, now the North Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Exposition Park was home to the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1891 until 1909, when they moved to Forbes Field in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. Games 4 through 7 of the first World Series were played at Exposition Park in October, 1903 – the Pirates were defeated 5 games to 3 in the then 9-game series by the Boston Pilgrims (now the Red Sox).
