Description
Construction of the Equitable Life Assurance Life Society’s newest skyscraper office building located at Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh. The $16 million, 22-story structure was designed by the architectural firm of Harrison & Abramovitz. The exterior of the building consists of 232 tons of stainless steel mullions in combination with green glass. The service core includes 43,000 square feet of stainless steel wall area. A 750-car underground garage adjoins the building. Construction of the building was completed in early 1960.
