Description
The Golden Triangle from Pittsburgh’s Mount Washington neighborhood. In the foreground is the Point Bridge (erected in 1927, closed in 1959, and demolished in 1970) spanning the Monongahela River. In the right background still under construction is the Fort Pitt Bridge, which opened on June 19, 1959. In the left center are the newly constructed Gateway Center buildings, and immediately to their right is the multi-colored State Office Building.
