Description
Before completion of Point State Park, the Manchester Bridge (left) spanned the Allegheny River to connect the Point with the North Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh, and the Point Bridge (right) spanned the Monongahela River to connect the Point with Carson Street on the South Side section of Pittsburgh. The first buildings of Gateway Center (the three chrome-alloyed steel buildings to the left) have been completed, but still to be built were the Hilton Hotel and other buildings, which now surround Point State Park. In the background the tallest buildings are the Gulf Building, left, the U.S. Steel Building, center, and the Grant Building, right.
