Description
Caption on the back of the photograph reads, “This 44-inch reversing mill for cold rolling grain-oriented silicon steel, stainless steel and titanium was placed in operation in 1955 at Crucible Steel Company of America’s Midland Works.” Some of the equipment used at this facility included, Electric furnaces, an AOD, vacuum melt furnaces, a slab caster, a hot strip mill, and cold rolling mills. Stainless steel, titanium sheet, strip and plate were the primary products of this plant.
