Description
The Space Research and Coordinating Center located at 4107 O'Hara Street on the University of Pittsburgh campus in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. In 1962, the University obtained NASA grants of several hundred thousand dollars for predoctoral fellowships and $1.5 million to erect the Space Research Center for studies in the natural sciences, social sciences, engineering, and health areas concerned with the aerospace field. Today, the building houses classrooms, labs, and main offices of the Department of Geology and Planetary Science.
