Description
The eastern end of what was to become the redeveloped campus of Duquesne University shows an area where buildings have been razed to make way for the expansion of Mercy Hospital and Duquesne University. At the far end of the photograph (upper right background) can be seen the Administration Building for Duquesne University, which has long been a landmark in Pittsburgh as it sits high on the bluff overlooking the Monongahela River and downtown. The area shown here would eventually be developed into a central mall surrounded by classroom buildings, activities center, and a field house among other structures.
