Description
Engine Company No. 12 was established in February of 1873 when East Birmingham became part of the municipality of Pittsburgh. It was located on Sarah Street between 20th and 21st Streets in the South Side section of Pittsburgh at the site of the Walton Hose Company. The engine company moved to a new building, dedicated on January 30, 1884, at 2109 East Carson Street between 20th and 21st Streets. On April 23, 1964, the company relocated to 1729 Mary Street where it remains to this day. The engine company is now known as Engine Company No. 24.
