Description
The Mesta Machine Company was located about six miles from Pittsburgh in West Homestead, Pennsylvania. The Mesta Machine Company was one of the leading manufacturers of machine tool and steel mill equipment in the world during the first half of the twentieth century. Some of their products included gas and steam blowing engines for blast furnaces, forging presses, shears, cut and machine-molded gears, and various types of rolls used in rolling mills. In 1959 Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev visited the plant as part of his American tour.
