Description
In 1965 the Pittsburgh All-City Student Council launched a campaign to provide a box of cookies for each member of the Armed Forces from the Pittsburgh area stationed in Vietnam. Shown planning “Operation Cookie Box” at Connelley School were, left to right, Louis Alpern, vice president of the Council, Taylor Allderdice High School; Anna Scatena, secretary, Arsenal; Debbie Ford, treasurer, Herron Hill Junior High; Norbert J. Graney, executive secretary of the Council and teacher at Connelley; Dennis Knezevich, Connelley; and Lenwood Sloan, president, Westinghouse High School.
