The building was built in or shortly before 1868 at the request of John and Jane Sterritt. The home was built in the Italianate style. Later owners William P. and Margaret Price were responsible for the construction of the two-story rear brick bulding, built in 1895. They purchased the house from Jane Sterritt in 1886.
