Description
Contains a detailed review of the history, age, and ownership of 836 Western Avenue, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The building was constructed in 1889 for Clara and Caroline Rosenback, unmarried sisters who were dressmakers. The new building took the place of an earlier and smaller house that had stood on its site. The sisters operated their dressmaking business there between 1889 and 1906. In 1906 the sisters moved, but maintained the house until 1913.
