Description
A portrait of Dr. John C. Burgher, a member of the Homeopathic Medical Society of Allegheny County. Burgher, along with Herman H. Hofmann and Marcellin Coté, founded the Homeopathic and Surgical Hospital and Dispensary of Pittsburgh, the predecessor to Shadyside Hospital, in 1866.
