Description
Clark Yogurt Delight bars, including artificial strawberry, pineapple, and orange flavors. Briefly produced by the D. L. Clark Company in 1980, Yogurt Delight bars were developed as a healthier snack option in reaction to the drop in American candy consumption that began in the 1960s and continued through the 1980s. Only on the market for six months, Yogurt Delight bars were yogurt mixture that were poured into a form package that equated to a five-ounce serving of yogurt. The company credited the product's failure to its packaging and the decline of a brief peak in the yogurt market. Remarking on the scale of the product's collapse, Vice President of Sales and Marketing John Clampitt stated in an August 1980 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article that "People stayed away from it in droves."
