View looking east from Pier No. 47 of Bridge No. 1 (Fort Wayne Railroad Bridge) of the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railway freight house yard, showing piles of railroad cross ties and other construction materials. The top of the Fort Pitt Hotel and the lower half of the freight house can be seen on the right. This is one of a series of photographs taken to document the raising of Bridge No. 1 (Fort Wayne Railroad Bridge) by the Eastern Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
