Description
In 1951, the Carmody family purchased this small convenience store originally built on Wexford-Bayne Road by the Krepps during the 1930s. It opened as Carmody's Lounge in 1952. In 1970, the building was moved 100 feet from its original location due to the construction of I-79 and the widening of Wexford-Bayne Road. The building has since undergone renovations. The restaurant and lounge is located at the I-79 Wexford interchange in Franklin Park Borough, Allegheny County, PA. Photo shows the two and half story brick house with a one story addition with entryway. The windows and door on the original building are coverd with awnings. A telephone booth can be seen just to the right of the addition.
