Description
According to city directories, Stanley's Tavern, a restaurant, was located at 1506 Wylie Avenue in 1945. It was owned by William Stanley. This photograph seems to show a side entrance, street number 63, possibly off Fullerton Street. The restaurant has an electric sign with its name, images of a martini glass and coffee cup, and a clock reading approximately 11:30. Street car tracks appear in the foreground. An Owl Cab (founded 1948) can be seen underneath the restaurant sign.
