  • Description
  • Belmar Elementary School, located at 7109 Hermitage Street, took its name from the Pittsburgh neighborhood in which it was located. Construction on the school began in 1900 and was completed in 1903. The original school building included tile halls, big stairways, and stained-glass windows at the top of stairs leading to the second floor. In 2003 the average class size was 26 and the total enrollment was 409. The school offers special programs such as the Male Mentoring Program, the D.A.R.E. Program, the SECTEM Program (energy conservation), and the Life Skills Support classroom.
