Description
Herron Hill Junior High School was named for the terrain on which the school was located and for the Herron Family. The land surrounding the mansion of John Herron, Mayor of Pittsburgh from 1849 to 1850, was called Herron’s Hill and was located in the Minersville section of Pittsburgh. The school, which opened in 1928 and closed in 1976, was remodeled and reopened in 1976 as Margaret Milliones Middle School. Architects Damianos and Pedrone designed the new remodeled school.
