Description
The basketball team and cheerleaders of Fineview Elementary School, all of whom were fifth and sixth graders. The team had its first season in 1972 without uniforms, no basketball lines on the gymnasium floor, and only one basketball hoop. Members of the team pictured here are front row, seated, left to right, John Gaydos, Teddy Kiger, Walter Parker, Monte Miller, James Ziegler, and Russell Gettings (who was injured and not in uniform). Rear row, standing, same order, Coach Bob Manfredo, Marvin Daniels and Tom Lawrence, co-captains; Walter Berry, Nate Borner, Richard Boyd and Harry Diggs, manager, in front of Coach Manfred. Kneeling cheerleaders, front row, left to right, Coleeta McGee, co-captain; Candy Simons, “Kathy” Hendricks, Karen Williams, co-captain; Felicia Hunt, Karen Brady, Tammy Thompson, and Carol Seanez. Fineview Elementary School closed in 1973.
