Description
Hazel Scott being interviewed by a reporter in living room. Hazel Scott moved to the United States in 1924 from Trinidad, by 1929 she had won six scholarships to attend Julliard for the piano. By the 1940's she had a radio show, had performed in two Broadway musicals, and starred in five films. During the 1950's she was the first African American woman to have her own TV show, which was cancelled after she was accused of being a communist. She died in 1981. Clothing dates to ca. 1950-1960.
